Buyers won’t think about making an offer until they can “mentally move in”.  That is why it is so necessary to minimize the personality of the owners in the home so the buyers can envision their things in the house and themselves living there.

The buyer’s hopes, dreams and images of life in their ‘new home’ (your old house) are absolutely critical for the buying decision and are easily destroyed by too much clutter, dark and dated rooms, or closets and cupboards that are jammed full.
